Beautiful weekend in Toronto! Sun, heat and relaxation! The deck time was at a 10. Saturday night was spent at the Sony Centre with Anthony Bourdain and Eric Ripert. I didn’t really know what to expect and knew the F bombs would fly, and they did. They both talked well and Bourdain was, well, Bourdain. The same persona that you’ve seen on TV was exactly what he portrayed. No holding back and complete honesty about his past and present. Even an admission of selling out for “The Taste”. All in all it was fun but the warning of complete verbal freedom should be taken in account if he’s headed your way.
So I didn’t get to the smoked mussels on the weekend. That will be for the next one. I did however put a chicken on the rotisserie last night and serve it on a bed of Fettuccini Alfredo of sorts. I diced a red pepper and tomato I had roasted off for a little colour and vegetable addition and tossed it together after the pasta was ready. I would have posted photos of it but the trolls that live with me dove right in before I could get a shot.
Tonight’s menu;
Grilled shrimp marinated in a sweet red pepper jelly with cilantro on rice. As usual I’ll have to see what’s in the cupboard and fridge to season the rice with. It’s always a surprise!
I dropped some images in a page called Foodie Photos and hooked up on Twitter and Instagram for some additional fun! @ArtisanalGrill
Be well!
